IBX Connect - Integration scenarios

The IBX Platform supports two main ways of self-service procurement based on SAP SRM: SRM on-demand and SRM on-premise. In the on-demand case IBX is hosting SAP SRM as a multi-tenant or single-tenant SaaS (Software as a Service) with integrations to the customer's SAP back-end as well as to the supplier base. On-premise means the SRM system is part of the SAP system landscape on the client's own premises. Then usually it is integrated with the IBX Search Engine via the Open-Catalogue-Interface (OCI).

SRM on-demand

In the on-demand case IBX is hosting SAP SRM as a multi-tenant or single-tenant SaaS (Software as a Service) with integrations to the customer's SAP back-end as well as to the supplier base. In this scenario the IBX Platform empowers every employee in the enterprise to search for and buy items. Masterdata is maintained in SRM to make sure that transactions comply with corporate purchasing policies and internal controls. Masterdata is synchronized between the enterprises SAP ERP back-end and SRM via integration and the other way round copies of orders and confirmations are transferred from SRM to SAP ERP on the client's own premises.

SRM on-premise - Classic integration scenario

The classic integration scenario supports end users in retrieving desired goods and services from predefined catalogs. Shopping Carts are transferred to the back-end system which is the leading system for the purchase order document and subsequent documents. Goods receipt (confirmation) or invoice creation can take place in SAP SRM or ERP.

SRM on-premise - Extended classic integration scenario

The extended classic integration scenario supports the end-to-end procurement cycle in SAP SRM; a copy of the necessary documents is stored in the back-end. SAP SRM is the leading system for the purchase order document and subsequent documents A copy is maintained in the back-end. Users in the back-end have full visibility, without even touching SAP SRM. Goods receipt or invoice creation can take place in SAP SRM or ERP.

SRM on-premise - Standalone integration scenario

The standalone integration scenario supports backend integration that is required only to keep the underlying financial systems synchronized. SAP SRM is the leading system for the purchase order document and subsequent documents. All tasks and activities take place within SAP SRM. Purchasing invoices are posted into the underlying accounts payable system.
